A Top 25 that is 80 percent open in late August is not a crisis. It is the class. The five who signed tell you which staffs already closed. The twenty who have not tell you where the next year of recruiting actually lives.

Hill is the highest-ranked commit on the board. Hampton and Hudson are the two SEC names in the Top 25. Knueppel is the Duke name. Johnson is the Gonzaga name. That is the entire closed list.
The twenty who have not
The top 12 are all open. So is every name from 14 through 18. The closed names sit in a clump from 13 to 24. If you are a staff hunting a lead guard, the board has not given you one yet. Black, Daughtry, Anderson, and Alston are still on the market.
I would treat this Top 25 as an open class until a name from the top 12 signs. The five pledges are real. They are not the class.
